Jaye and Skye's Story CH. 6

Skye watched as the world came back to life around her.

“Very interesting.” She mused to herself more than anything. She looked in Jaye’s direction as she felt him pull her.

“Well, time to party!” Henry would say with a very childlike giggle as he followed Jaye. Skye would roll her eyes at him before giving way and following them. As they stopped near the stage, Skye would proceed to awkwardly bop around. She did use to come here a lot, but since everything that happened, the Vixen felt out of her element. Henry would dance with Skye to try and cheer her up.

“Move it chicka!”

“I’m too old for this!” She joked.

“Well fuck! If I’d known I’d brought a grandma, I would have just left your ass at the bar!”

Skye would gently push his head away from her in a joking manner, “Fine. I’ll show you I’m not a party pooper!” She would exclaim. “After the next one though.”

Henry would smile at her, giving a small hip bump. To which she returned. Skye would turn her gaze to Jaye as he spoke to her.

“Your friend’s really good!” She would shout over the music, giving a thumbs up as well. She would wait for a moment as the song ended, noting that Jaye was going up.

“So what are you gonna sing?” Henry asked excitedly.

“I don’t know yet. But I’ll think of something good.” She smiled. Skye turned as she heard Jaye speak to her. “Uhm. Yeah. I mean. I used to. Until, well, you know. Or. I guess, you don’t. But it doesn’t really matter anymore.” She would give a shy smile. Her ears perked up as she heard Tali sing.

“Wow, you might have some competition Skye!” Henry teased.

“It’s not a talent show. Besides, I only sing for fun.” Skye shrugged. “I’ll be right back” she would say casually before walking up to the DJ booth. “Hey Bennie!” Skye smiled.

“Well hold my beer, and smack me with a fish! If it isn’t Skye!” He would give her a sideways hug. “What song can I play for you?! It sure has been a long while!” Skye blushed and gave a small shrug.

“Uhm. How about.” she would lean in trying, to the best of her abilities, not to shout in his ear.

“Ohh! I always did love when you sang that one! I’ll stick you on after Jaye.”

“Thanks Bennie!” Skye would give him a hug and walk back to the ever growing group of friends.

“You sure you’re gonna be okay?” Henry asked a bit worriedly.

“Yeah. Well. I hope so.” She would pause for a moment looking down at her feet. Henry would place a hand on her shoulder.

“Don’t worry girl! You’ll be great!” He would smile wide, hoping that his cheerfulness was contagious.

Skye just chuckled and hugged Henry tight. “Little worm!” She teased.
